Custom Window Treatments in Stamford CT
Window shades like Delia Shades (deliashades.com) have elevated the shade business into the 21st century with patterns and ornamental designs inspired by architecture across centuries. We are proud to be the installation company of choice for her ultra creative, light-filtering products. From shades that look like lace or lattice to Moorish and Arabesque styles and more, her light-filtering shades make stunning style statements.
Patterns have their roots in ancient civilizations beginning with simple geometric shapes found in art, mosaics and weaving. They evolved into intricate designs which often reflect religion and culture. One of the most fascinating pattern movements can be observed in the kaleidoscope. Window shades have a storied history which appears to have begun in the Netherlands. Both the mechanisms and shade materials have improved across centuries.
We immensely enjoyed installing these light filtering, roller shades in what we saw as kind of a labyrinth in print. Standard chain-and-clutch roller shade hardware was used, and it is imperative that it be installed correctly and level on both sides of the window – inside or outside the frame – for even, smooth operation. These shades can be hand-raised and lowered or motorized with a push button on a remote or mounted on a wall. Basically, these are not your grandmother’s window shades, but a very sophisticated expression of creativity in a window treatment.
