Light-Filtering Electric Shades Westport
For this project, our client wanted to keep that natural brightness while gaining the comfort and convenience of modern automation. We designed and installed custom Somfy-powered light-filtering motorized roller shades throughout their waterfront space.
Instead of blackout fabric, we used a premium light-filtering material that gently dims glare without killing the view. During the day, the room stays bright and open. At night, the shades add privacy while still keeping the space feeling soft and airy. The goal wasn’t to hide the water — it was to frame it.
The Somfy motors give the homeowner complete control from the app, remote, or simple voice commands. With one touch, shades glide up in the morning to reveal the river; another tap, and the space shifts into a calm, filtered-light evening mood. Everything is quiet, smooth, and perfectly measured to fit each window.
